A student at Liberty University in Virginia was shot and killed Tuesday morning after a “physical altercation” with a campus police officer near an off-campus women’s dorm, Lynchburg police say.
Police Lt. Dave Gearhart said that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the campus community, the Lynchburg News & Advance reports. Classes continued as scheduled throughout the day.
Police say the male student was shot after a physical confrontation with a Liberty University Emergency Services Officer near Residential Annex II, a women-only dorm.
