A small plane crashed in the middle of the night at Nashville International Airport, but no one noticed until well after sunrise.
The plane, a single engine Cessna registered in Canada, apparently crashed sometime after 3 a.m. and burst into flames, but no one noticed until the pilot of another plane taxiing for takeoff noticed an engine cover on the edge of a runway. When authorities reached the plane, they found the pilot dead.
According to the latest data, more than 15,000 aircraft took off from or landed at Nashville International Airport in August. A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration told CNN there was low visibility and fog overnight and said that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
