A Cleveland man who lived on the same street as kidnapper Ariel Castro faces charges for the alleged murders of two women and the rape of others, including two children, the Huffington Post reports.
After the Castro kidnappings in Cleveland, law enforcement officials took a new look at other cases of missing women from the area and obtained videotaped confessions from Elias Acevedo for two murders committed almost two decades ago.
Acevedo, 49, was indicted Thursday of hundreds of other criminal charges as well, including kidnapping and gross sexual imposition.
He was questioned among Castro’s neighbors, and arrested in June when police discovered Acevedo was a sex offender who hadn’t reported his current address to police.
