A powerful explosion in the town of West, Texas, killed at least 35 people and injured more than 160. Among the dead are 10 first responders, including five members of West’s volunteer fire department, according to West mayor Tommy Muska. Homes were leveled and parts of the town were evacuated. There is no indication the blast was anything other than an industrial accident, according to Waco police Sgt. William Patrick Swanton.
