Mayhem descended on the Boston marathon Monday afternoon. Roughly three hours after the winners crossed the finish line, there was reportedly a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line. Another explosion was heard by spectators a few seconds later. Initial reports pointed to multiple injuries.

Did anyone notices there is yellow parachute looking thing in the air just left of the smoke?    Do you think this was something inside the explosives?

I hope the authorities have noticed the young man in photo 7 with the Bridgton Academy Hoody on. What does he have in his hand? Is it a firearm or something else? Looks like something sticking down his leg too. Please investigate.

We, the people of Israel, while commemorating our dead, and celebrating the 65th birthday of the re-institution of our sovereignty in our homeland of Eretz Israel, also stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Boston at this very difficult hour as sisters and brothers stand alongside their kins. Life, brothers and sisters of the US in general and Boston in particular, is stronger than death and destruction that some evil people are driven to bring upon us. Stand tall and strong and we shall overcome this one too.

The Boston Marathon has always showcased the best of humanity, not only the ordinary people running to raise money for charities or for personal challenge, but also the spectators who spend hours encouraging the runners.  We won't let this ruin that.

@AlbertChong Thanks. Noone really cares about them - Iraqis, Pakistanis, Syrians, etc. because we are not white :)

@CrossWinds  The last thing we need to do is bring religion into this tragedy.  Religion might just be responsible for the horrors of today.

Take a minute and think:  what is helping the injured and saving lives right now?  Religion?  No, medical science.  What will bring the perpetrators to justice?  Religion?  No, scientific forensics, rational investigation and, probably, Intelligence methods.  What will help Boston heal?  Religion?  No, people helping each other no matter what their religion or rationality.  Political and organization leaders discussing and deciding on how to move forward from this tragedy.

As for your predictions of end times, please realize that those predictions have been made over and over and over again over the past 2000 years or so.  They're bunk.  Please read some non-fiction books instead of those 'left behind' novels and please try to be more rational!  Thank you.

Yeah, that has worked out so well for so many, so far. Answer this... What kind of "God" even lets things like this happen? Did he need that 8yr old more than the parents, or his or her friends? Or even this world? The answer is NO.

Whatever you just stated sounds like a whole lot of nonsense... Try having some respect for the victims of this horrible incident and leave the politics out of it.

Man, between this guy and "CrossWinds" (whatever that means) we seem to have some real air-heads commenting on here.

Only comments right now should be in respect for the dead, injured and their families and friends. Leave the religious and political noise for another day...

@famulla5 It's really hard to tell what you are trying to say.  Are you saying you knew what the plan was with this attack?  If so, you should contact the FBI or Boston Police.  If you are just speculating, refrain from doing that.  Also, if you are saying the gun control doesn't work, you're mistaken.  It is true that people will always be violent, but if weaponry is controlled, the rates of deaths and injury are much less.  It's harder to kill or maim someone without a gun.

@megapril Would you just STFU! Do not bring God's name in vain! You should just pray for all those who were injured in this kind of horrific incident!

No, more political and religious discourse. Otherwise, how do we know what the deluded and zealous are thinking?

I love how you can tell someone to STFU and throw in an appeal to pray. Wow. Taking a god's name "in vain," whatever that's supposed to mean in 2013, is verboten, but actually telling someone to STFU is a-okay. How very Christ-like of you.
