— The Marine Corps’ official statement Thursday on a photograph of California-based Marines posing with “what appeared to be a Nazi-related symbol.” A Pentagon probe concluded “the incident was found not to be racially motivated.” The Marines were told not to display the Nazi SS symbol again, but were not otherwise punished. This comes as the corps is investigating several Marines videotaped apparently urinating on Taliban fighters’ bodies in Afghanistan.
