A father flung his toddler son off a second floor balcony at a Florida hotel Tuesday before jumping himself, according to state authorities.
The two-year-old child suffered multiple fractures but is expected to survive. Juan Pablo Maradiaga, 41, also survived the fall, the Associated Press reports.
The state’s Department of Children and Families said in a press release that both Maradiaga and his son were hospitalized in Orlando. Maradiaga will face attempted murder charges, said state authorities.
Police responded to the incident at the Budget Inn in Kissimmee at around 2 a.m, and are continuing to investigate.
