For the first time, a gay couple was wed during the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif.
Despite prior calls to boycott the event because of the same-sex marriage, a sizeable crowd gathered around the giant wedding cake-float where Aubrey Loots and Danny Leclair exchanged their vows.
The parade’s organizers, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses, said the float was a good representation of this year’s theme: “Dreams Come True.”
