Miami authorities believe they have located the body of a man who tragically fell from a private plane Thursday.
The identification is pending an official confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office, but authorities believe the body is Gerardo Nales, a 42-year-old Florida man who went missing after a pilot on the Piper PA 46 reportedly told an air traffic controller that one of his passengers had fallen out of an open door.
The plane had just taken off from Tamiami Executive Airport and was flying about 2,000 feet in the air, police said. The body was found in an area of mangroves around 10:30 a.m., reports the Associated Press.
There is no evidence of foul play, and only two people were on board.
