Sinkhole Swallows Corvettes At Car Museum

A sinkhole opened up beneath the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky., on Wednesday, swallowing eight classic cars.

The 40-foot hole opened up overnight, CNN reports, engulfing six Corvettes on loan to the museum from private donors, and two on loan from General Motors.

A spokesman for the museum said the cost of the damaged cars would be “substantial.”
