Two sisters of an Iowa state representative were found dead in their Pittsburgh home Friday, with gunshot wounds to the head.
Police are investigating the deaths of Susan and Sarah Wolfe as homicides, the Associated Press reports. They found no sign of forced entry, and do not yet know of a motive for the killings. Sarah Wolfe, 38, was a psychiatrist for Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, while Susan, 44, worked as a teacher’s aide.
Their sister Mary is an Democratic Iowa State Representative, and they have five other siblings.
Susan’s boss became concerned when she didn’t show up for work at the Early Childhood Center at Hillel Academy Friday morning, so she called the police. The sisters’ bodies were found at around 2pm Friday afternoon.
Sarah Wolfe’s boyfriend Matthew Buchholz mourned her on Facebook, posting that she was an “old school riot ‘grrrl,'” according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Police say Buchhloz is not a suspect, and he is cooperating with the investigation.
