Police say an 88-year-old man walked into his wife’s hospital room in Nevada on Sunday and shot her in the chest.
William Dresser has been charged with attempted murder, CNN reports. He recently purchased a small caliber semi-automatic handgun and allegedly opened fire in his wife’s hospital room at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, according to the sheriff’s office. He has been put on suicide watch.
The victim’s name and age were not immediately available. Her injuries are life-threatening, and she has been transferred to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.
