Seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift concluded the Australian leg of her RED tour, playing to a sold-out crowd of more than 40,000 fans, at Etihad Stadium on December 14, 2013 in Melbourne, Australia.

Construction work at Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island property has caused alarm among surfers and local residents.

Purportedly, the $2 million project aims to repair a seawall damaged by Superstorm Sandy, but some people worry that the resettlement of giant boulders may affect the wave breaks and block access to public beaches, and have called out on social media for better vigilance.

In a comment to local newspaper The Westerly Sun, Jim Federico writes that: “You’ve moved the boulders closer into shore, which means that they are most likely nearer the surface. How does this not ‘affect any other significant cultural resource’ i.e. surfing, fishing, swimming etc…?” Others have been arguing that people should “leave her alone.”

According to Laura Dwyer, spokeswoman for the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council, which approved and is monitoring the development, the workers are “doing just what they said they would be doing.”
