A Texas woman pleaded guilty on Tuesday to sending letters to President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg that contained the highly toxic substance ricin.

Shannon Guess Richardson, 35, admitted to the crimes in federal court in Texas, as part of a deal her lawyer said would reduce her prison sentence to a maximum of 18 years, the Associated Press reports. Federal authorities arrested her in June for sending the letters and then calling police to tell them her husband did it. Richardson’s husband had recently filed for divorce.

The mother of six is an actress who had minor roles in the movie “The Blind Side” and the television show “The Walking Dead.”
