A massive search continued Tuesday amid freezing temperatures for the couple and four children who have been missing in the remote northwest Nevada mountains since Sunday.
James Glanton, 34 and his girlfriend Christina McIntee, 25, drove a Jeep into the mountains Sunday at about noon with their two kids, a niece and a nephew. They have not been heard from since they went missing in the area, which has patchy cell phone service.
A Navy search-and-rescue team and a volunteer auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force — the Civil Air Patrol — joined the local sheriff’s office in the search, CBS News reports.
Officials are hoping the family has stayed put in the Jeep, as temperatures have dropped to as low as minus-16 degrees since they’ve been missing.
