Mid-Air Collision Results in Death of Two Skydivers in Arizona

Accident caused divers parachutes to malfunction

A mid-air collision on Tuesday afternoon left two skydivers dead in Eloy, southern Arizona.

According to the Associated Press, one of the divers was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital before being declared dead.

The collision occurred approximately 200 ft. above the ground, causing the skydivers’ parachutes to malfunction.

According to a report on the news website Azcentral, investigators have yet to determine what lead to the collision.  Eloy is home to one of the world’s largest drop zones for practitioners of the sport.
