The town of Wallsburg, Utah, forgot to arrange to hold an election on November 5, the day when voters cast ballots in other municipal elections across the state.
By the time the town, population 275, realized its error it was too late to find candidates or organize an election, The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Instead the current mayor and town council will have to be re-appointed until the next election two years from now. The re-appointing process should go smoothly, at least. The current mayor and council members were also appointed two years ago, after the town forgot to hold that election.
