New details are emerging about a 10-year-old girl whose body was found in a trash bin in suburban Atlanta over the weekend, detailing what appears to be a history of abuse.

The body of 10-year-old Emani Moss was found in a trash bin in Gwinnett County, Georgia, on Saturday. According to an autopsy, she may have been killed as early as Oct. 30 and her body was burned, likely in an effort to conceal the crime, the Associated Press reports. Police reports show that Moss came to school with welts and bruises and had tried to run away.

Moss’ father, Eman Moss, and stepmother, Tiffany Moss, have been charged with murder, concealing a body and child cruelty. They are being held without bond.
