Several shots were fired at North Carolina A&T State University campus Saturday night, leaving one man wounded and the campus on a brief lockdown over homecoming weekend.

Devine Eatmon, 21, was suffering from serious, but not life-threatening, injuries after he was shot near McCain Hall at about 10 p.m. Saturday, according to a statement from Police Lt. J.L. Raines.

The university placed the campus on “high alert” after the incident, lifting the lockdown an hour later. Police said they’re searching for four suspects believed to be armed with handguns.
