3 Dead In Tennessee Helicopter Crash

Two Tennessee hospital employees and a pilot were killed Tuesday morning when a medical transport helicopter crashed.

Officials received a call from Hospital Wing, a Memphis-based emergency airlift service, that one of its helicopters was late arriving in Memphis, the Commercial Appeal reports.  Hospital Wing lost contact with the helicopter at 6:20 a.m.

The downed helicopter, which was on its way to pick up a patient in Bolivar, Tenn., was discovered in a field near Somerville, Tenn., with no survivors. The victims were the pilot, a nurse and a respiratory therapist.
