Gun shot wound suspected as cause of death

Eastern Michigan University wide receiver Demarius Reed was found dead in an off-campus apartment Friday at 7:15 am, according to the university.

The  school sent a campus-wide email about the freshman football player’s death saying that the police in Ypsilanti, Michigan, home to the public university 35 miles west of Detroit, are investigating the death as a homicide. The cause of death is a gunshot wound, the police told The Ann Arbor News. Reed was the team’s fourth-leading receiver.
