The man accused of slapping a crying toddler on a plane in February pleaded guilty to simple assault Wednesday.
Prosecutors are seeking a six-month sentence for Joe Rickey Hundley, who used a racial slur in describing the 19-month-old boy and then hit him during a flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta.
Hundley’s attorneys said in court filings that he had been en route to Atlanta to make a decision about whether or not to take his comatose son off of life support.
