George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin in July. Since the verdict, he has had a hard time avoiding the national spotlight. Here’s a look at his tumultuous summer:

Sept. 9: Zimmerman is questioned by police following a domestic dispute with his wife and father-in-law. Zimmerman has not been charged with a crime.

Sept. 5: Zimmerman’s wife files for divorce. In the filing, Shellie Zimmerman asks that her husband pay for a permanent life insurance policy with her named as the beneficiary and that she receive equal distribution of their checking accounts, trusts, partnerships and any unknown assets. She also confirms that the couple separated a month after the verdict.

Sept. 3: Zimmerman is pulled over for speeding, the second time since the verdict. For going 60 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone, Zimmerman faces a $256 ticket and 3 points on his license.

Aug. 28: Zimmerman’s wife pleads guilty to perjury for lying about the family’s finances during bail proceedings in her husband’s trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin. She had told a judge the couple was broke, despite receiving $130,000 in Internet donations from supporters. Prosecutors said the couple had discussed the funds prior to the proceedings but spoke in code: $10 meant $10,000. Shellie Zimmerman avoided 5 years in prison with the plea agreement.

July 28: Zimmerman is pulled over in Texas for speeding and receives a warning. “What a coincidence,” the police officer says when he recognizes the name on the driver’s license.

July 17: Just four days after being acquitted, Zimmerman reappears in headlines for helping four people get out of an overturned, smoking vehicle.
