Breakthrough: May 2003
The Department of Justice indicts Jamal al-Badawi and Fahd al-Quso, alleged al-Qaeda associates. The DOJ also names additional co-conspirators, including Walid bin Attash and Abd al-Nashiri.
Capture: Ongoing
Although al-Quso was killed by a drone strike in 2012, al-Badawi remains at large. Bin Attash is being held in Guantánamo. Al-Nashiri has been there since 2006, but his trial has been continually delayed, even as recently as this month due to disappearing files.
