TIME and the Carnegie Corporation of New York are hosting a Google Hangout On Air this Friday at 12:00 pm (EST) to discuss the future of college.
For this week’s special issue on higher education, Amanda Ripley’s cover story (“College Is Dead. Long Live College!”) examines whether a new breed of online mega courses can finally offer a college education to more people for less money. She’ll moderate a discussion featuring questions from TIME’s Google+ fans and guests from the TIME Summit on Higher Education, which is gathering more than 100 leaders in education, government, philanthropy and business on Oct. 18 at the Time Warner Center in New York City.
(SPECIAL REPORT: Reinventing College)
Michele Cahill of the Carnegie Corporation, Andrew Ng of Coursera and Arthur Levine of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation will talk with Ripley about cost, access, and the quality of higher education—as well as how much technology and globalization are changing the equation.
