Turns out, Iran’s susceptibility to earthquakes has generated some of the world’s toughest concrete. That helps buildings survive temblors. But it also could blunt the impact of any bunker-busting bombs Israel or the U.S. might rain down on Tehran’s bunkerfied nuclear program.
Reports the Economist:
…one country — as it happens, one that is very interested in enriching uranium — is also good at making what is known as “ultra-high performance concrete” (UHPC)…It would be embarrassing if the bunkers were still intact when the smoke cleared.
