Former First Sea Lord Admiral Lord Alan West said: “I would hardly say it is a luxury…It’s a big problem…It’s a very unsatisfactory position to be in.”
As the congressional super-committee struggles in its quest to save $1.2 trillion over the next decade – and apparently coming up empty-handed – these kinds of problems are likely to be seen on this side of the Atlantic, as well.
