The father of world-renowned singer Mary J. Blige was stabbed in the neck and critically injured in a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend.
Police in Battle Creek, Mi., say that the attack occurred about 7 a.m. Thursday at 63-year-old Thomas Blige’s apartment.
His ex-girlfriend was found with blood on her clothing and is in the Calhoun County jail on an attempted murder charge. She is expected to be arraigned on Friday.
Thomas Blige has been taken to Kalamazoo’s Bronson Methodist Hospital. His condition is unknown.
