An avalanche near Vail, Colo. killed one person and injured three Tuesday morning, local authorities said.
The deadly slide occurred at around 11:30 a.m. in East Vail Chutes, the Associated Press reports.
Eagle County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jessie Mosher said that the three injured people did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
Avalanches have caused five deaths in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana over the past two weeks.
