Yet another winter storm was bearing down on the northeast United State on Tuesday, blanketing the region with snow and bringing sub-zero temperatures.
The storm was projected to reach southwest New England by late morning, the Associated Press reports, and plow northeast, dumping three to six inches of snow in most parts of the region. Parts of Maine could see as much as nine inches, and some areas of the state had experienced power outages due to snapped electricity cables.
Several school districts in Connecticut closed Tuesday because of the weather, the AP reports, and some in Massachusetts will close early. The flight tracking website Flightaware.com said more than 300 flights were canceled Tuesday and more than 1,000 delayed.
The storm is expected to push off the coast of Maine by early Wednesday morning.
