The two Florida girls who were accused of bullying a 12-year-old schoolmate until she committed suicide will no longer be facing charges, the girls’ attorneys said this week.

The two girls were arrested in October on felony aggravated stalking charges in a case that garnered national headlines. A lawyer for one of the girls, Jose Baez, called the charges “reckless” and “reprehensible,” and threatened legal action against the Sheriff, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

“He should get a lawyer and a darn good one, ’cause he’s going to need it,” said Baez,  who represented Casey Anthony in her trial for the murder of her 2-year old daughter Caylee. Anthony was acquitted.

Sheriff Grady Judd, who had the girls arrested after the suicide of Rebecca Sedwick, says he did not regret that decision and he is glad the girls got counseling. “Our goal was to create an intervention,” he said.
