Ten people were shot Wednesday night, at least two fatally, in a shootout outside of a barbershop on Detroit’s east side.
Police said that two cars were following each other while the occupants shot back and forth when they turned onto Seven Mile Road near a barbershop. Police initially reported that nine people were shot and there were three fatalities, but later corrected this report to say only two people were in fact killed. A 10th victim walked into a hospital later Wednesday night, Detroit’s WDTV reports. Witnesses told police they heard as many as 40 shots fired during the exchange.
Detroit police said that the barbershop is known for gambling, but it’s not clear if anyone inside was targeted.
