Bernhard Bernie Goetz leaves Federal Bankruptcy Court in lower Mnahattan accompanied by his lawyer Darnay Hoffman.

Bernhard Goetz, infamous for shooting four teens on the New York City subway in 1984, was arrested Friday for selling pot to an undercover police officer.

Goetz, who accused four youths of attempting to mug him on the subway, was charged with criminal sale of marijuana after selling $30 worth of drugs in New York City’s Union Square.

Goetz was convicted of a weapons charge but found not guilty in attempted murder charges, prompting a national discussion on crime and the legality of self-defense.
