The NYPD released surveillance video of a suspect in a sexual assault Thursday. He was wearing this fedora.
Police in New York City are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 24-year-old woman early Thursday morning as she was unlocking the New York University Catholic Center near the school campus in lower Manhattan.
The New York Police Department released surveillance footage of the suspect Friday that shows the man wearing a fedora and a black cross-shoulder bag, with his right hand wrapped in a bandage.
In a statement, the NYPD said the suspect followed the victim into the building at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, where he raped her.
Archdiocese of New York spokesman Joseph Zwilling told the New York Daily News that the victim does campus ministry work and was opening the building to provide breakfast to those in need.
NYU emailed students warning students to be aware of their surroundings, and spokesperson John Beckham told the Daily News that “our thoughts are with the victim of this crime and we hope that she’s able to recover swiftly and that her assailant is brought to justice promptly.”
