A grand jury will not charge anyone in an alleged college sexual assault case that rippled across social media after it was caught on camera, a prosecutor said Monday.
Two 20-year-old students were unknowingly photographed and filmed in a sex act against the front window of a bank near Ohio University in the early morning of Oct. 12. Photos were shared across social media, and the woman later told police she was the victim of sexual assault.
The Associated Press reports that investigators determined the couple had both been drinking, that the man asked the woman if he should stop when an eyeing crowd formed, and that the woman said no.
“If a lesson exists from this case, let it be that we should behave as if our family is always watching,” Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn said in a statement.
The school plans to conduct its own investigation.
