A Texas man is in custody after allegedly going on a killing spree that left five people dead.

Police in Terrell, a city 30 miles east of Dallas, arrested Charles Brownlow early Tuesday morning after an hours-long search. He is accused of killing five people — including burning one to death — in a killing spree on Monday night, the local CBS affiliate reports. Police said one victim was shot dead at a gas station and another was burned to death in a house that apparently was set on fire.

Brownlow, who according to public records has had numerous brushes with the law, has yet to have a lawyer comment on his behalf.
