Police in North Carolina have arrested the operator of a popular ride at the North Carolina State Fair, where five people were injured last Thursday.
Authorities charged 46-year-old Timothy Dwayne Tutterrow, who operated the Vortex, with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon over the weekend for allegedly tampering with the ride’s safety devices WTVD reports.Tutterrnow was working as an independent contractor operating the ride. He will appear before a judge on Monday morning. His lawyer did not comment to local media.
Two of the five victims from the ride mishap have been released from the hospital; three remain hospitalized with undisclosed conditions.
