Two convicted murders in Florida who conned their way out of prison were arrested and returned to jail after police received a tip from a “close associate.”
Charles Walker and Joseph Jenkins, both of whom were serving life sentences for murders committed in 1998, were released from prison after presenting forged motions to reduce their respective sentences, according to CNN. An acquaintance tipped off police that the fugitives were waiting for a ride at a Panama City motel, and they were arrested by U.S. marshals on Sunday.
Walker and Jenkins will be in court on Friday, charged with one count each of escape.
