Two teens accused of beating a World War II veteran to death appeared in court in Spokane, Wash., on Thursday, where attorneys argued over the timing of their impending murder trial.

Demetruis Glenn and Kenan Adams-Kinard, both 16, will stand trial as adults for killing Delbert Belton, an 88-year-old veteran who was wounded while fighting in the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. The teens are accused of beating Belton to death in his car. Both have pleaded not guilty.

According to the Spokane Spokesman-Review, a trial date is set for Nov. 4, but the attorney for Adams-Kinard has asked for a continuance. Judge James Triplet advised the attorneys that if a continuance is granted, it could push the trial date back to next March or April.
