Police have arrested two girls in connection with the suicide of a 12-year old Florida girl who jumped to her death after being bullied online for almost a year.

The girls, aged 12 and 14, have been charged with felony aggravated stalking, the Associated Press reports. Authorities said Tuesday that they are part of a group of girls who “terrorized” Rebecca Sedwick in online message boards and texts for nearly a year leading up to her death. Police have confiscated some of the girls’ cell phones and computers as part of the investigation.

Sedwick died Sept. 9 after hurling herself from a tower in an abandoned concrete plant.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said that the bullying began over “a boyfriend issue.”

“We can’t just leave her out there,” Judd said of one of the girls arrested during a news conference Tuesday morning. “Who else is she going to torment? Who else is she going to harass?”
