Construction of the new football stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., came to a halt Monday after a delivery truck driver was killed when the bundle of steel he was unloading fell on him.

The driver working on the new San Francisco 49ers stadium was not immediately identified, the San Jose Mercury News reports. State agencies including California Division of Occupational Safety and Health are investigating the accident, which is the second workplace death to happen at the construction site this year.

In June, elevator mechanic Donald White, 63, was hit and killed by a counterweight while working in a shaft.

The $1.2 billion stadium is slated to open in time to host Super Bowl 50, and is expected to be finished in July 2014.
