A 19-year old Florida girl who was prosecuted for her sexual relationship with a younger girl took a plea deal Thursday that would avoid felony charges.

Kaitlyn Hunt was 18 when she was accused of having sex with the victim, who was 14 at the time, according to CNN. The age of consent in Florida is 16, but Hunt’s lawyers have argued that the case would not have been prosecuted if the couple were male and female. Prosecutor Brian Workman says that nothing about the case would be different if Hunt were a boy.

Hunt pleaded no contest to a deal which would require her to serve four months in prison, two years under electronic monitoring, and nine months probation. She was originally charged with lewd and lascivious battery, but the charges were reduced to misdemeanor contributing to the dependency of a child, two counts of misdemeanor battery, and two counts of felony interference with child custody.
