Colorado Flood Kills 3, Forces Evacuation

Massive flooding in Boulder, Colorado has rendered the streets impassable, caused mudslides, and destroyed multiple homes, according to Emergency Management officials. A mandatory evacuation has been issued for several areas.

At least three people were already killed, one by a structure that collapsed due to flood damage on Wednesday, according to the Denver Post. Two more bodies were recovered on Thursday morning. The details of those deaths have not yet been released. Boulder has seen more than 6 1/4 inches of rain since Monday.

University of Colorado Boulder announced that the campus will be closed Thursday because of the flash flooding. Many students’ dorm rooms are already flooded.
