From an armed services committee hearing Tuesday:

SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM R-S.C.:  If you looked out over a 10-year window and sequestration was fully implemented, we would have 232 ships left in the Navy a decade from now. Is that a wise thing?

ADM. SAMUEL LOCKLEAR, chief, U.S. Pacific Command: Not a wise thing.

SEN. GRAHAM: It would severely restrict our ability to deal with threats that you face today in your backyard. Do you agree with that?

ADM. LOCKLEAR: Unless you put them all in my AOR [Area of Responsibility] — I’d probably be OK if you put them all there.
