We still need to look at the interrelationship(s) between multiple deployments, family separations, disruptions and stress on child abuse and spousal domestic assaults. It is for good reasons why there has been a sharp upticks in the incidence of child abuse in military families as well as domestic strife and assaults in military family homes. Besides impacting our ability to adequately defend our nation from external threats, cutting back the size of our military will only result in transferring these problems from military communities to civilian communities as "laid-off" military personnel now have even more stress on them (i.e. financial). I hope Time focuses on these issues also.
We need an insight into our military. Its time for the American public to let go of the myths about the military. The public must have information that can help us understand what's going on within the Pentagon, Joints Chiefs of Staff as well as the VA and what's going on with our veterans. I think Battlefield helps to prove insight as well as information.
I think the Battlefield should offer more human interest stories; insights into whats happening within the branches of the service; programs/training that focus on vets are the help or not; how will the cuts impact future enlistment; provide answers to general questions for example why the military top bass refuse to change polices regarding soldiers being allowed as they move to civilian life to take their military weapons with them.
I think Bush and Cheney should be tried in court for the Iraq war. I think voters who were stupid enough to cast a ballot for these morons should bear the financial cost of this war on their own. They should also volunteer at a VA hospital every weekend for the rest of their lives.
