James Doerner also works inside, as seen here.
ARABIAN SEA (Dec. 4, 2012) – Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Tony Nguyen, of Westminster, Calif., left, and Gas Turbine System Technician (Electrical) James Doerner, of Alta Loma, Calif., right, review the status of equipment during a drill held aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53). Mobile Bay is deployed with the John C. Stennis Strike Group to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions for Operation Enduring Freedom.
While we normally associate Operation Enduring Freedom with Afghanistan, it also applies elsewhere.
from the DOD casualty status page--
OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM (Other Locations), includes casualties that occurred in Guantanamo Bay (Cuba), Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Philippines, Seychelles, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.
Now if this photo caption is correct OEF also includes the 5th Fleet AOR. Plus other places, I imagine, including in Central Africa. That makes OEF Pentagon-speak for the Global War On Terror, doesn't it?
