A FLIR video from the cockpit just before the AH-64 tries to thread the pines.
Classic oldie but goodie, and still viewed a lot in Army aviation circles. An AH-64 pilot, flying at Fort Campbell, Ky., several years ago, decides to thread his Apache through some trees in the northwest corner of the post.
Pilot: Think I can make it in-between there?
Co-pilot: Nope!
Pilot: Oh ye of little faith – look how big that is.
A split-second later, the rotor blades rip into the trees, forcing the chopper to crash land.
