— How much extra pay a reserve soldier collected from May 2009 to May 2011 because the Army’s bookkeeping remains so lax, according to a new Government Accountability Office report. “Effective review of the [Unit Commander Finance Reports] could have determined that this soldier, who had left active duty, was continuing to receive active duty pay,” it says. The Army is trying to collect some $50 million in such overpayments.
