Battleland noted Sunday that the headline on this Pentagon photo had mis-spelled POTATOE, just as VP Dan Quayle did more than 20 years ago. Glad to see it’s fixed now.

It's a perfectly natural mistake. The headline writer (never the journalist) took the 's' off the potatoes in the text to get the singular potatoe. It's another vagarie of the English language and its crazie grammar.
