In the Guard, we only went to the range once a year. We fired 12 rounds for Zero, 40 for qualification, then a few more for NBC and night fire (of course night fire was only every other year, and we only did NBC if we had enough rounds). And that was it. It was tragic that we couldn't become more familiar with our weapons.
